SOUTH BERWICK — Portland overcame an early 6-0 deficit and scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull out a 14-13 win over Marshwood in an SMAA baseball game Thursday.
Portland (4-2) led 10-9 in the fifth inning, but Marshwood (1-4) scored four runs in the sixth to regain the lead.
In the seventh, Jake Knop tied the game at 13-13 on a two-run single, then scored the go-ahead run on a single by Thomas Joyce.
Knop led Portland with three hits and four RBI.
Cole McDaniel recorded two hits and three RBI for Marshwood.
BIDDEFORD 5, GORHAM 0: Brady Crepeau struck out seven and allowed five hits as the Tigers (2-3) defeated the Rams (3-2) in Biddeford.
Biddeford led 1-0 before scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by Evan Paquette’s bases-loaded triple.
Ben Nelson led Gorham with two hits.
SOUTH PORTLAND 2, SANFORD 0: The Red Riots (4-1) scored twice in the ninth inning with the help of an error to beat the Spartans (2-5) in Sanford.
Jake Poole had two hits and scored the winning run. Hunter Owen got the win in relief of Zach Johnson who allowed four hits and four walks and struck out seven in eight innings.
Brad Bouchard pitched eight innings for Sanford, giving up four hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
SCARBOROUGH 15, MASSABESIC 9: Cam Seymour and Zoltan Panyi drove in four runs apiece as the Red Storm (3-2) downed the Mustangs (1-4) in Scarborough.
Seymour, Panyi and Noah Frink each had three hits as Scarborough totaled 18 hits. Wyatt Plummer and Morgan Pratt both added two RBI.
NOBLE 11, BONNY EAGLE 6: Jacob Lacroix and Matthew Chambers each had two hits and an RBI, and the Knights (2-3) scored seven runs in the first two innings against the Scots (2-4) in Standish.
Coby Johnson added two hits for Noble, which got four runs in the first and three in the second to take a 7-1 lead.
Kolby Lambert had three hits, including a double, for Bonny Eagle, and Arlo Pike drove in two runs with a pinch-hit single in the fifth.
THORNTON ACADEMY 9, WINDHAM 0: Brady Lambert allowed just two hits over five innings and the Golden Trojans (3-3) scored five runs in the second inning against the Eagles (2-4) in Windham.
Evan Balzano and Luke Chessie each had three RBI. Balzano led the Trojans with three hits.
CAPE ELIZABETH 12, KENNEBUNK 2: Brendan Tinsman had three hits and Carson Sullivan pitched a six-hitter as the Capers (4-3) beat the Rams (2-6) in six innings in Cape Elizabeth.
Brett McAlister also collected three hits and drove in two runs for the Capers, who scored five runs in the third to take an 8-1 lead.
LACROSSE
BRUNSWICK 20, MORSE 5: Aiden Glover recorded five goals and four assists and the Dragons (4-0) jumped out to a 14-5 halftime lead against the Shipbuilders (2-1) in Brunswick.
Christian Glover added three goals and four assists, and Max Gramins also scored three goals.
Declan Hall got two goals for Morse.
SCARBOROUGH 15, PORTLAND 2: Marco Manfra and Marc Guerette each had four goals and an assist for the Red Storm (4-2) in a win over the Bulldogs (1-3) in Scarborough.
Reilly O’Brien scored both goals for Portland.
