BIDDEFORD — Robert A. Cote, 96, of Biddeford died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1920 in Biddeford a son of Joseph and Alma (Bonneau) Cote and was educated locally.

Robert worked as a farmer for many years and then as a mechanic for the Biddeford Public Works department.  He enjoyed working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives: Aline (Millette) Cote, the mother of his children, Florence (Brochu) Bernier Cote, and Carmen (Mand) Hanusek Cote; three children, his first-born twins and Lucien “Baby Lou; two grandchildren. Carmen Cote and Danny Cote; and his 15 siblings.

Surviving are his children, Roger Cote and his wife Claire of Biddeford; Richard Cote and his wife Laurette of Biddeford; Rachel Cote of North Port, Florida; Paul Cote and his wife Lorraine of East Baldwin; Conrad Cote and his wife Shirley of Biddeford; Renald Cote and his wife Jackie of Biddeford; Donald Cote and his wife Nancy of Biddeford; Doris Baker and her husband of George “Skip” of Biddeford; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be 8 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. in the Hope Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
