Each year, local residents come together to share photos and travelogues of their adventures abroad at Freeport Community Library’s Armchair Travel series.
This year, the destinations and dates are as follows:
Lake Michigan
Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Unexpected discoveries are part of the scenic road trip armchair travelers take along the shores of Lake Michigan with Sally Walsh.
Japan
March 6 at 6:30 p.m.
Sushi, samurai, ancient imperial palaces and lush, mountainous parks: Japan with professional photographer
Jack Montgomery.
Brazil
March 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Silver medalist Hugh Freund who will share highlights from his Summer 2016 Paralympic sailing experiences on Guanabara Bay.
Bahamas
March 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Polly Brand takes armchair travelers with her on a vacation to the Bahamas.
Germany, Austria and Poland
March 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Armchair travelers can look forward to an insider’s look at Germany, Austria and Poland with Hans Krahn.
Freeport Community Library is located at 10 Library Drive. The Armchair Travel series is free with doors opening at 6 p.m.
