NEW HIRES

 Southern Maine Health Care hired Rick Olsen as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Most recently, Olsen served as senior director of finance and operations management, corporate financial planning for North Shore LIJ Health System.

 Stroudwater Associates, a leading national health care consulting firm, hired four consultants and its first directors of human resources and marketing.

C. Ross Berry joined Stroudwater as a principal. Berry brings more than 25 years of strategic, operational and financial leadership experience in health care.

Jacquetta Johnson joined as its first director of human resources. Johnson has more than 15 years of strategic HR experience.

Clare Kelley joined Stroudwater as a consultant. She brings a strong passion for public health and health care policy, as well as a strong background in geography, cartography and data visualization in the health care space.

Kimberly McCall joined Stroudwater as its first director of marketing. She brings more than two decades of experience in marketing, communications and public relations. She served as Anthem’s director of marketing for Maine. She was also the first marketing manager at MaineHealth.

Lan Mai Nguyen joined Stroudwater as a consultant in the firm’s valuation, compliance and physician-hospital alignment practices. Nguyen brings firsthand experience with clinical care and a deep understanding of the importance of clinical quality, safety and patient empowerment across the care continuum.

Jonathan Pantenburg also joined Stroudwater as a consultant, where he brings a strong record of leadership in rural health care. Pantenburg served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Kahuku Medical Center on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

PROMOTIONS

• Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice recently announced three promotions to its management teams.

Angela Richards, RN, was promoted to director of transitional care. Richards has been with AHCH for 25 years, most recently in the role of project manager.

Steve Doyon was promoted to director of administrative services. Doyon has been working at AHCH since age 16. He earned a master of business administration from St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

Ann Perkins was promoted to manager of compliance and risk. Perkins is a 20-year veteran of AHCH, most recently serving as the performance improvement coordinator.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

• Rockwell Davis, a Brunswick dentist, was honored by the International College of Dentists, USA Section, for his leadership, commitment and service. Dr. Davis recently traveled to Denver, Colorado, to receive this honor and be welcomed as a “Fellow” in the organization. He has been a member of the Brunswick community for over 23 years.

 Hospice of Southern Maine honored Dr. Daniel Hayes with the Pope Leadership Award, which recognizes a person or organization for visionary leadership, commitment to advancing the work of hospice, and to supporting its mission.

Hayes was instrumental in the formation of the organization, and before his retirement was the President of New England Cancer Specialists. Hayes was part of this year’s Anne L. Hunter Thresholds community education forums, which focused on having end-of-life conversations with physicians and families.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

• Hospice of Southern Maine elected new board members and corporation members at its annual meeting.

Chris Coon, vice president of finance for Maine Medical Center, and Dr. Nathan Wilson, vice president of quality and patient safety at Southern Maine Healthcare Internal Medicine, were elected to the board. Elected to a second term was Donna DeBlois, chief executive officer of MaineHealth at Home. Serving a third term is Melanie Feinberg, manager of quality, information and clinical research at Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute.

Elected to the Corporation were: Dr. Cynthia Atkinson, Chris Coon, Marilyn Gugliucci, Ph.D., and Kenneth Smaha.
