FALMOUTH — Eva Mazur scored all of her nine points in the third quarter Wednesday night as South Portland took command on the way to a 58-39 victory against Falmouth in a girls’ basketball game.

The Red Riots (10-2) led just 21-18 at halftime but then went on a 23-11 run in the third quarter.

Margaret Whitmore had 15 points to lead South Portland. Katherine Whitmore added 13 points and Meghan Graff chipped in with eight.

Adelaide Cooke led Falmouth (6-8) with 14 points.

MASSABESIC 47, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 45: Skylar Renaud scored 11 of her game-high 16 points in the first half and the Mustangs (3-10) held off the Lions (5-8) at Waldoboro.

Kenzy Ouellette added 14 points for Massabesic, which led 26-22 at halftime. Serena Mower scored 13 points to pace the Lions.

OXFORD HILLS 38, DEERING 35: Julia Colby hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Vikings (12-1) over the Rams (8-5) at Portland.

Erin Morton scored a game-high 15 points for the Vikings, who led 35-30 midway through the fourth quarter before Deering scored five straight to tie it.

Victoria Garand scored 11 points to lead Deering, which had a chance to take the lead in the final minute but turned the ball over to set up Colby’s winner.

WAYNFLETE 37, ST. DOMINIC 28: Lydia Giguere scored a game-high 13 points and the Flyers (8-5) used a 15-4 run in the second quarter to beat the Saints (4-9) at Portland.

Waynflete trailed 6-4 after the first quarter, then led 19-10 at the half after its run.

Annika Brooks added 11 points for the Flyers. Chloe Dwinell scored nine to pace the Saints.

LAKE REGION 51, POLAND 37: Brooke Harriman and Kristen Huntress each scored 12 points to lead the Lakers (8-5) over the Knights (8-5) at Naples.

Lauren Jakobs added nine points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Lakers.

Nathalie Theriault led the Knights with 13 points.

YARMOUTH 36, TRAIP ACADEMY 32: Cory Langenbach and Johanna Hattan drained back-to-back 3-pointers to give Yarmouth (10-4) a 33-31 lead over the Rangers (4-10) with 30 seconds left at Kittery.

Sara D’Appolonia sank a pair from the line as the Clippers hit 3 of 4 to close out the win.

Langenbach finished with 10 points. Cassidy Delano led Traip with 13.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 45, PINE TREE ACADEMY 35: Meghan LaPlante scored eight of her 10 points in the second half as the Seagulls (6-5) protected an eight-point halftime lead and defeated Pine Tree Academy (8-3) at Old Orchard Beach.

LaPlante finished with seven rebounds, including five offensive boards in the second half. Emily Greenlee led Old Orchard with 12 points and Kaitlyn Cote pulled down 11 rebounds. Alexandra Goodman scored 19 for the Breakers.

OCEANSIDE 46, MORSE 31: Gabby Simmons scored a game-high 20 points, hitting five 3-pointers, as the Mariners (4-8) downed the Shipbuilders (4-9) at Bath.

Rachel Joyce added nine points for Oceanside, which outscored Morse 16-8 in the second quarter to take a 26-18 halftime lead. Sierra Wallace scored 10 points to pace Morse.

THORNTON ACADEMY 57, PORTLAND 42: The Golden Trojans (7-6) held a 41-29 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Bulldogs (0-13) at Saco.

Alisha Aube led Thornton with 23 points. Isabella Robinson added 11.

Taylor Sargent scored 15 points for Portland, hitting four 3-pointers.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 51, BIDDEFORD 39: The Raiders (7-6) opened a 10-5 advantage in the first quarter and stretched it to 27-11 by halftime against the Tigers (1-12) at Biddeford.

Makayla Cooper had a team-leading 18 points for Fryeburg. Mackenzie Buzzell contributed 10.

Grace Martin paced Biddeford with 18 points.

RICHMOND 67, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 29: Sydney Tilton had 24 points, including four 3-pointers, and 16 rebounds as the Bobcats (14-0) handled the Panthers (5-9) at Yarmouth.

Mackenzie Abbott added 18 points for Richmond, which led 18-0 after one quarter.

Helen Hamblett had 11 points and Maggy Larson followed with nine for NYA.

BRUNSWICK 69, CONY 31: Madeline Suhr scored 12 first-quarter points as Brunswick (11-3) opened with a 22-0 run en route to a 27-2 lead entering the second period against the Rams (0-13) at Augusta.

Suhr finished with 15 points and Sabrina Armstrong had 16 for the Dragons. Sydney Avery scored 17 for Cony.

FREEPORT 47, CAPE ELIZABETH 42: Jessica Driscoll scored 16 points to lead Freeport (10-3) over the Capers (0-13) at Cape Elizabeth.

The Falcons fell behind 21-12 in the first half before outscoring Cape 20-9 in the third period to take a 32-30 lead.

Saylor Wood scored 11 points and Kelly O’Sullivan added 10 for Cape Elizabeth, with Alison Ingalls grabbing 15 rebounds.

GREELY 5, LEWISTON/MONMOUTH ACADEMY/OAK HILL 0: Emilee McGillicuddy had two goals and two assists for the Rangers (13-1), who scored three goals in the third period to put away the Blue Devils (6-8-1) at Lewiston.

Bridget Roberts added two goals and an assist, and Courtney Sullivan had an unassisted goal in the second period to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead.

FALMOUTH 3, SCARBOROUGH 0: Evie Clement broke a scoreless tie 6:09 into the second period, scoring from Devon Sarazin, and the Yachtsmen (12-3) downed the Red Storm (10-4-1) at Falmouth.

Clement helped extend Falmouth’s lead, assisting on Abigail Lebel’s goal with 20 seconds left in the second. Sarazin completed the scoring for Falmouth from Caroline Proctor 6:28 into the third.

Alexandra Hurdman stopped 29 shots for the Yachtsmen. Lucca Sterrer fended off 28 for Scarborough.
