SANFORD—Michael A. Letourneau, 59, of Sanford died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He was born Oct. 6, 1957 in Biddeford, a son of Armand and Doris (Cadorette) Letourneau, and was educated at St. Joseph School and Biddeford High School, graduating with the Class of 1975. He then completed a program at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute to be a machinist.

He worked a few years with Honeycomb Systems in Biddeford. He took some time off to ride his mountain bike cross-country with his friends. Michael was currently employed for the past 33 years with Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick.

On Dec. 7, 2013, he married Nancy Spulick who had been his true love since 1999.

He had enjoyed going to Aruba, and had done so seven times with his wife. Weekends at York and Hampton beaches were his favorite pastime. He also enjoyed Patriots football.

Preceding him in death were: his brother, Roger Letourneau in 1952; his father, Armand Letourneau in 1959; his mother, Doris Walker in 1999; his sister, Nancy Cassette in 2003; his brother-in-law, Roger Descoteaux in 2015; and his aunt, Marguerite Cadorette in 2010.

He is survived by: his wife, Nancy Letourneau of Sanford; his sister, Joanne Descoteaux of Biddeford; a stepdaughter, Nancy Chamberlain and her husband, Alan, of Hollis Center; his stepfather, Frank Walker of Biddeford; his mother-in-law, Isabelle Spulick of Saco; a brother-in-law, David Spulick and his wife, Bernadette of Saco; his sister-in-law, Shirley Hayes of Saco; nieces and nephews, the Rev. Lee Descoteaux of Long Island, New York, Scott Descoteaux and Shawn Descoteaux of Biddeford, Angela Warner of Saco, Tammi Hanson of Biddeford, Kenneth Cassette of Dayton and Sheila Cassette of Saco; and great-nieces and nephews.

He will be sadly missed by a dear friend, Larry Mullen of Sanford and many co-workers and friends.

Visiting hours will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
