The Bath Antiques Show and Sale kicks off its 28th season Nov. 13 at the Bath Middle School at 6 Old Brunswick Road in Bath.
Bill and Ruth Garland have been exhibitors at The Bath Antiques Show since it began 28 years ago. For 25 years, they operated an antique shop on Route 32 in Jefferson, near the County Fair Farm.
The Garlands take delight in finding old furniture and restoring it through polishing and repair.
“I love to take something beat up and make it beautiful,” said Bill. “We try to make a connection with buyers and add a personal touch.”
Bill specializes in country pieces, chests tables and highboys. Everything the Garlands offer is “house-ready” — cleaned, polished and ready for a life in a new home.
The November show is the first of five shows this season. Other shows will be held December through April will the exception of February. The November show will have over fifty antique dealers from Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Besides furniture, there is a wide variety of jewelry, toys, dolls, paintings, folk art and other sought-after collectibles.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is easily accessible from the Congress Avenue exit of U.S. Route 1. Posted signs near the exit will direct drivers to the school. Admission is $5.00.
