The following is a schedule of events for November at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St., Brunswick. The library will be closed for Veteran’s Day November 11 and Thanksgiving November 24. All programs are free and open to the public.

Ongoing or Weekly Events

• Collaboratory Interactive Display: Animal Homes & Habits, through Nov. 30

An interactive exploration of where animals live and why some do the odd things they do. For all ages.

All skill levels are most welcome and beginners will usually be able to get advice from members with more experience.

• Gather Round for Stories, Tuesdays 10:30-11 a.m.

Join one of the library’s volunteers for stories old and new.

• Fandom Club at BHS, Tuesdays 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Come to the Brunswick High School Library to do things after school, whether it’s play games, discuss books, make crafts, watch movies and more. Each week will be something different. Co-hosted by Daurene Jerome, BHS Librarian, and Melissa Orth, Teen Librarian at CML. Homeschoolers are welcome. At Brunswick High School.

• Story Time, Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Stories, songs and activities for preschoolers. Promotes early literacy through reading, writing, talking, playing and singing. Suggested ages 2-4. No story time Nov. 23.

• BJHS 7th & 8th Grade Book Club, Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Open to any 7th or 8th grade Brunswick Junior High School or homeschooled student. This is a club where teens choose the books and we play board games in between or while discussing some good reads. Bring your own snacks. At Brunswick Junior High School.

• Tech Wizards are In, Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon

• Current Events Forum, Thursdays noon to 1 p.m.

Discussion of current events, open to the public. No meeting Nov. 24.

BJHS 6th Grade Book Club, Thursdays 2:45-3:30 p.m.

Open to any 6th grade Brunswick Junior High School or homeschooled student. Discuss your favorite books and play board games. Bring your own snacks. At Brunswick Junior High School No meeting Nov. 24.

• Just Write! Fridays 10- 11:30 a.m.

Writing group led by Molly McGrath, Director of Publications at the Telling Room. All ages and abilities welcome. No meeting Nov. 11.

• Music Fun with Miss Teresa, Fridays 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Lively songs, rhythms and movement with Teresa Gillis, followed by playtime. Supports early literacy development and a love of music, and it’s fun! For babies and toddlers and their caregivers.

Monthly book group. Join us to discuss The Wright Brothers by David McCullough. Everyone who has read the book and would like to discuss it is welcome to attend meetings.

Friends of Merrymeeting Bay discuss animal habitats, migration and adaptation of animals native to Merrymeeting Bay. All ages are welcome.

Another Time, Another Place Science Fiction Book Group, Nov. 10, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Monthly science fiction book discussion group. This month we discuss “Sassinak” by Elizabeth Moon and Anne McCaffrey. Everyone who has read the book and would like to discuss it is welcome to attend meetings.

Monthly meeting of the Civil War Roundtable. Public is invited.

LEGO Club, Nov. 12, 10:30 p.m. to noon

Meet with other creative kids for a session of building and fun. We have thousands of LEGO bricks to share. All ages.

I’ll Read Anything Book Group, Nov. 16, 1-2 p.m.

Monthly book group led by director Liz Doucett. This month we discuss “In the Kingdom in Ice: The Grand and Terrible Polar Voyage of the U.S.S Jeanette” by Hampton Sides. Everyone who has read the book and would like to discuss it is welcome to attend meetings.
