BRUNSWICK
The Bowdoin International Music Festival has announced Laura Chaney as its new director of development. She joins the festival with experience in nonprofit management and fundraising.
“I am delighted to join this internationally renowned festival in promoting and supporting the aspirations of current and upcoming professional classical musicians,” Chaney said. “I look forward to working with festival patrons and friends to continue building a strong future for this community and for the participating musicians.”
Most recently the director of development for Bay Chamber Concerts & Music School in Rockport, Chaney returns to the Brunswick area having begun her development career as a Development Office Fellow at Bowdoin College. A native from Wiscasset, Chaney returned to Maine four years ago after having served in similar capacities at nonprofits across the border in New Hampshire.
“I could not be more pleased to be working with this terrific team that is the Bowdoin International Music Festival,” Chaney said.
“We are very excited to welcome Laura to the Festival team,” said Daniel Nitsch, the festival’s executive director. “We look forward to introducing her to the entire festival community.”
