OXFORD, Ohio — Anthony Louis scored his second goal of the game with 4:30 left in the third period as Miami University rallied to a 3-3 tie with the University of Maine in a nonconference men’s hockey game on Friday night.
The Black Bears (3-1-1) took a 3-2 lead when Cedric Lacroix scored with 6:26 left in the third period.
Maine led 1-0 at the end of the first period on a goal by Peter Housakos.
The RedHawks (1-1-2) tied the game on Grant Hutton’s goal 5:29 into the second, but Maine quickly regained the lead when Mitchell Fossier scored off assists from Mark Hamilton and Dane Gibson a minute and a half later.
Louis tied the game at 2 with 6:58 left in the second period.
Rob McGovern made 39 saves for the Black Bears.
FIELD HOCKEY
ALBANY 2, MAINE 0: Molly Mariano broke a scoreless tie in the 32nd minute, and the Great Danes (11-5, 5-1 America East) went on to beat the Black Bears (11-6, 4-2) at Orono.
Dana Bozek added a goal early in the second half.
Emma Cochran and Emily Corbett each made a save for the Black Bears.
MEN’S SOCCER
ROGER WILLIAMS 3, UNE 1: Dan Kelly and Sean Janson scored first-half goals, and the Hawks (5-11-2, 3-3-2 Commonwealth Coast) went on to beat the University of New England (3-10-4, 1-6-1) at Bristol, Rhode Island.
Charlie Mader added to Roger Williams’ lead in the 57th minute before Ryan Stephens put the Nor’easters on the board eight minutes later.
