Scott Morrison will be back as head coach of the Maine Red Claws for the third straight season, the NBA Development League team announced Monday.
Morrison, 39, has guided the Claws to consecutive Atlantic Division titles and has compiled a 66-34 record. A native of Prince Edward Island, he spent the offseason as an assistant coach for the Canadian national team, which fell just short of qualifying for the Rio Olympics.
Currently an assistant at the Boston Celtics training camp, Morrison will return to Portland for Maine’s brief training camp, which begins Nov 1. The Red Claws are scheduled to open their eighth season Nov. 11 at Oklahoma City, with the home opener Nov. 18 against Long Island.
