FREEPORT — On Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m., author Charlene D’Avanzo will give a book talk at Freeport Community Library. A marine ecologist and award-winning environmental educator, D’Avanzo has studied the New England coast for forty years. Now, in her debut mystery “Cold Blood, Hot Sea,” she immerses readers in the beauty of Maine waters and the grave threats to its beauty.
