OGUNQUIT — The Tea Space at 254 Main Street (Route 1) is the newest addition to the shopping scene in downtown Ogunquit.
The Tea Space, owned and operated by Eileen Conlon of Wells, opened July 1 in a new building built by Bob Alexandre where his gas station stood for many years as one of Ogunquit’s landmarks. The building is home to: Flip’s of Maine, Celtic on Main, The Sassy Olive and Stonehome Estate Jewelers.
The Tea Space has been a long-time dream of Conlon who has enjoyed and studied tea for many years. The shop also sells quirky tea pots, mugs, cups, all sorts of teaware, tea accessories and tea items of every variety.
The Tea Space features high quality loose teas from India, China, Sri Lanka and Japan. This fall, Conlon plans to add a “weigh station” where she’ll be able to offer loose teas by the ounce so that customers can try a variety of teas.
