BIDDEFORD — Mindi Lucy McCabe, 39, passed away Friday, June 24, after a brief illness.

Mindi received 18 years of services at Community Partners Inc., and will always be remembered for her contagious laugh and love of life. Always a social butterfly, she made friends everywhere she went.

For 15 years, she was an active participant at Creative Works Systems, focusing her creative talent into art. She attended Pine Tree Camp every summer, where she enjoyed a week of camping with friends. Mindi was active in the Special Olympics, most years returning victorious with a new gold medal in wheelchair racing.

She also believed in giving back to her community, volunteering at the Kennebunk Animal Shelter. Mindi was particularly fond of the cats and kittens. She offered them love and affection while they waited to be adopted.

Mindi was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy May McCabe, and her father, James Allen McCabe.

She will be missed by her dear friend Bruce Mawhinny of Biddeford, sister Cheryl McCabe of York, sister Heather McCabe, extended family, friends and her devoted staff at Beachwood.

Mindi was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Waterford, surrounded by love .

We will keep you in our hearts always, Mindi, because you are awesome.
