BIDDEFORD — Madeline Binette Chretien of Biddeford died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. She was at peace holding the hands of her two daughters.

On Nov. 22, 1951, she married Henry Chretien at St. Joseph’s Church.

Madeline was employed with the Biddeford Lunch Program for over 30 years, where she enjoyed cooking for and serving children in the community.

Her needs took a back seat to the needs of her children and grandchildren, always putting them first in every situation. She lived for the moments of spoiling her family and providing them with endless amounts of love.

Her faith always carried her through this life, instilling those values into her daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 2000.

She is survived by: two daughters, Gisele and Dennis Roy of Biddeford, and Elaine and Bob Stickles of Biddeford; three grandsons, Randy and Tara Forcier of Biddeford, Matthew and Heather Forcier of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Jordan Stickles of Biddeford; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Ellie Forcier; one sister, Joan and Sylvio Nolette; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St. James School, 25 Graham St., Biddeford, ME 04005; or: Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
