Madison Cummings scored two of her three goals in the second half as the University of Maine scored five times in the second half to pull away for a 7-3 win over Dartmouth at Orono on Monday.

Harrison Charwat, Brandon Ford, Jamal Durrani, Denver Grant and Gradi Lapika all added goals for the Seawolves, who led 2-0 at halftime.
SOCCER
U.S. MEN: Christian Pulisic got his share of congratulatory messages after scoring two goals and assisting on another in the United States’ 6-0 victory at St. Vincent and the Grenadines in a World Cup qualifier last week.
Pulisic’s performance raised expectations and hype surrounding the 17-year-old midfielder who some think could be America’s next soccer star.
For now, though, Pulisic is likely to remain the U.S. squad’s super sub.
Coach Jurgen Klinsmann made it clear Monday he intends to bring the talented teenager along slowly and is not likely to start him Tuesday against Trinidad and Tobago, the Americans’ finale in the semifinal round of the North and Central American and Caribbean region.
Klinsmann, however, will make at least three changes to his starting 11. He’s already announced Tim Howard will replace Brad Guzan in goal, and defenders DeAndre Yedlin (yellow card accumulation) and Matt Besler (family leave) are unavailable.
Meanwhile, midfielder Michael Bradley and defender Michael Orozco are both returning from suspension and could play.
CYCLING
SPANISH VUELTA: Nairo Quintana of Colombia comfortably held on to his lead as Jean-Pierre Drucker of Luxembourg sprinted to win Monday’s flat stage at Peniscola, Spain.
Quintana maintained his advantage of 3 minutes, 37 seconds over Britain’s Chris Froome at the end of the 97-mile run from Alcaniz to Peniscola.
Esteban Chaves of Colombia remained third overall, 20 seconds back, followed closely by Spaniard Alberto Contador.
TRACK AND FIELD
EUROPE: European 200-meter champion Bruno Hortelano has seriously injured his right hand in a car accident.
Doctors in Madrid say Hortelano, who ran in the 200 at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, was hospitalized Monday morning after the car he was in collided with a truck on a highway in Spain.
PARALYMPICS
RUSSIA: A German court has rejected a bid from 10 Russian athletes for an injunction allowing them to compete at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The entire Russian Paralympic team has been barred from the games as punishment for a state-backed doping program.
Last month the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the International Paralympic Committee’s decision.
