A Gray man has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a passing motorist.
The incident occurred about 3:15 p.m. Saturday on Route 115, said Windham police Sgt. Peter Fulton.
A woman said the man pulled a gun from his waistband as she drove past him and pointed the weapon at her. She didn’t hear a shot, Fulton said, although some people in the area said they heard a shot around the time of the incident.
Police were near the site of the incident when the woman called to report it and they quickly arrested Trevor J. McCutcheon, 24, of Gray, Fulton said. He was carrying a 9 mm Glock handgun, he said.
Fulton said there’s no indication that McCutcheon and the woman, a 25-year-old from Windham, knew each other.
Fulton said police are still investigating the incident and additional charges are possible.
