Visitors to the offices of the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust during the Bath Art Walk this Friday can enjoy food and drinks as well as works from 11 local artists. The works will be auctioned at the Art of the Estuary Celebration & Auction on Aug. 25 and are available for preview during the Bath Art Walk on Friday.
KELT will celebrate the beauty of the region and the art it inspires with their special social event and fundraising auction on Aug. 25. Local artists have donated works of diverse media including paintings, sculpture and photography depicting venues throughout the Kennebec Estuary from Seguin Island to Popham Beach to Higgins Mountain.
Contributing artists include Evelyn Dunphy, Mike Fahay, Betsy Fear, Angus King, Charles Goodhue, Rafael Macias, Kristin Malin, Felicity Sidwell, Ann Sklar, and the Folinsbee and Cook families who — through the John F. Folinsbee Art Trust — have donated a painting by John Fulton Folinsbee and a painting by Peter G. Cook.
All proceeds benefit the land trust’s conservation program and will support KELT’s ongoing efforts to conserve, restore and instill appreciation of the land and water resources of the Kennebec Estuary. Last year, the Art of the Estuary Celebration and Auction raised more than $35,000. Tickets are limited and may be purchased by calling (207) 442-8400.
