CHEBEAGUE ISLAND — The Chebeague Island Historical Society is dedicating a memorial to people with connections to the island who have died in maritime incidents.

The “Toll of the Sea” dedication will take place Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. at Chandler’s Cove Field. Sanford Doughty, a local fisherman who died in 2013, is being honored along with more than 50 other people on the memorial plaque.
