An Edinburg man has been arrested in connection with the alleged operation of a methamphetamine lab from his home in the Penobscot County town.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said Sunday that Eugene Pomeroy, 48, was charged with unlawful operation of a meth lab, a Class B felony. Scott Lord, 29, of Mattawamkeag was charged with violations of conditions of release.

Both men were arrested Saturday at Pomeroy’s home on Edinburg Road after police officers, who entered the home Friday evening looking for Lord, noticed equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Lord had been out on bail for drug trafficking and was found by police hiding in Pomeroy’s basement, the MDEA said.

Both men are being held at the Penobscot County Jail.

The MDEA’s clandestine lab team was assisted by Maine State Police, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the Howland Fire Department.

Edinburg is small town located north of Old Town.
