Several acres of land off Route 1 in Scarborough’s Dunstan neighborhood have been cleared recently in anticipation of a fall groundbreaking on plans by a local developer. Elliott Chamberlain plans to add a mix of light commercial and residential uses to his Dunstan Crossing property, now accessed off Broadturn Road. Dan Bacon, Scarborough’s town planner, said this week he anticipates the new Dunstan Village development will include a mix of retail, professional offices, restaurants and housing. He is expecting that Chamberlain will submit final site plans within the next few weeks and that construction could then begin sometime in the fall.
