Four people were arrested Thursday and accused of trafficking heroin in Kennebec County.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said officers searching a home in Winthrop found 76 grams of heroin, worth about $15,500, and $2,400 in cash, believed to be from drug sales.
Arrested were Michelle St. Laurent, 28, of Winthrop, who was charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and violating conditions of release; Tyrone Lindsay, 20, of Waterbury, Connecticut, who was charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin; Daniel Ackerly, 30, of Winthrop, charged with trafficking in heroin; and Frederick Warner, 59, also charged with trafficking in heroin.
All were taken to the Kennebec County jail and court dates were set for Sept. 22. No bail was allowed for St. Laurent. Bail was set at $20,000 for Lindsay and $2,500 each for Ackerly and Werner.
The MDEA said the arrests were made after an investigation that included undercover purchases of heroin. That led to a search of St. Laurent’s home, where the drugs and cash were seized.
