A father and son were arrested and charged in a domestic disturbance Sunday that started at a home in Cornish and concluded at a home in Waterboro.
York County sheriff’s deputies were called around noon to a disturbance at a residence on North Road in Cornish, according Sheriff William King. When they arrived, they were told that Marcus Lefebvre, 28, of Waterboro had threatened two individuals with a firearm.
Lefebvre’s former girlfriend and her new boyfriend told deputies they had been leaving the residence when they found the driveway was blocked by a vehicle driven by Lefebvre’s father, William Lefebvre, 61, of Alfred, according to a news release.
When the new boyfriend asked the elder Lefebvre to move his vehicle, Marcus Lefebvre appeared and pointed a .45-caliber handgun at his former girlfriend and the new boyfriend, King said in a news release.
The new boyfriend also was armed and displayed his firearm while retreating to call the York County Sheriff’s Office, King said.
Marcus Lefebvre had been threatening his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend for several weeks and had been given a formal warning by Deputy Gil Hudson not to have contact with either victim about a month ago, King said. Around midnight Saturday, Deputy Heath Mains issued a cease harassment order to Lefebvre because he allegedly was texting threats to both victims.
Marcus Lefebvre was arrested at the home in Cornish on charges of criminal threatening and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, King said. After Lefebvre was transported to the York County Jail, his former girlfriend went to his residence in Waterboro, which they own together, to retrieve some of her belongings, King said.
William Lefebvre arrived at the Waterboro residence around 5 p.m. Sunday, when he found the former girlfriend and her new boyfriend removing some belongings from the house. A sheriff’s deputy advised the elder Lefebvre that the former girlfriend had authority to be in the residence and reclaim her belongings. The father became disruptive, failed to follow the deputy’s orders and was arrested, King said.
William Lefebvre was charged with disorderly conduct, posted $200 cash bail and has a court date of Aug. 23 in Springvale District Court, the sheriff said.
Marcus Lefebvre was being held Sunday night at the York County Jail on $100,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned by video on Tuesday. A court date is set for Aug. 5 in York County Superior Court. He may face additional charges related to the no-contact order, King said.
