SOME OF THE ITEMS UP FOR BID at the Georgetown Historical Society’s annual endowment fundraiser Saturday.
The Georgetown Historical Society will hold its annual endowment fundraiser on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. The event will include both live and silent auction items, and will take place at the society’s headquarters, 20 Bay Point Road in Georgetown. Light refreshments will be provided and the event is free and open to the public.
Among the live auction items are:
• An original Jason Schoener watercolor, circa 1980
• A “paint your view” watercolor by artist Katherine Gray where the winning bidder selects the view
• A Thomas Moser cherry wood chaise lounge with leather cushion
• A vintage Lyman Owen photograph of Five Islands fisherman Phil Campbell
• Multiple historic charts of local towns, including one of the mid- 19th Century of the city of Bath with all of the old shipyards identified
• Images of the launching of two five-masted schooners built by the G.G. Deering Company of Bath, the Dorothy B. Barrett (1905) and the Jerome Jones (1916)
• An antique needlepoint cushion cover by Edith Berry Horne
• Vintage Jason Schoener enamel Jewelry
• A family membership to the Maine Maritime Museum
• Bundles of books — Georgetown, Titanic, Nautical, and more.
Among the silent auction items are a variety of unique lithographs, jewelry, pottery, artist notecards and day passes to the Maine Maritime Museum.
