Nadeen Daniels appeared to be headed toward victory late Tuesday in the Democratic primary for the Cumberland County Registrar of Probate.
Daniels, a special-projects coordinator for the county, had 61 percent of the vote based on voting totals from 19 of the county’s 28 communities. Jessica Joseph, a legal secretary in the county probate court, trailed with 39 percent. The two Democrats hope to win the seat that’s been held by Democrat John O’Brien, who is retiring.
The winner of the Democratic primary will run against Republican James Hughes in the November general election.
