MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Every region has a story, and to promote and represent the southern Midcoast region the best way I can, I need to hear your stories — and I look forward to hearing them.
As the new executive director of the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber, I begin my first chapter here, coming with a tourist’s view of the assets in the region, but I want to become the expert as quickly as I can.
Over the past decade, I have been immersed in chamber work, and with that experience I can initiate programs, develop events and create marketing products that highlight this region.
But before I can sell others on this region, I need to discover it for myself. I want to find your hidden gems, your paths less traveled, your unique boutiques and finest meals. I want to know what the business community values, inform you of the legislative issues that will affect your industry at both a state and federal level, and find out exactly what I can do to help you have more success. I want to meet with the education sectors, and wellness champions to see how we can incorporate those values into the business community.
I have no preconceived notions and no agenda, other than to push the economic vitality of this region to another level.
My history involves numerous collaborative projects with other organizations and municipalities and I hope to grow those relationships early on. I truly believe collaboration is the key to the growth of a region.
Here is how you can help. Call me. Email me. Text me. Invite me to your business, or let’s grab a coffee or lunch and let’s chat about you. You will find I am straightforward, occasionally clumsy, funny and honest.
My wife and I are eager to begin our lives in the southern Midcoast region and I look forward to meeting all of you. Contact me at the SMMC office at (207) 725- 8797 or by email at executivedirector@midcoastmaine.com.
