The state and country are experiencing an alarming increase in opioid abuse, Congress and state legislatures are pushing through legislation to fund prevention and treatment services, and it is imperative that legislators have greater levels of expertise and experience in knowing precisely where these funds will do the most good.

As a highly regarded career corrections officer, Susan Deschambault has dealt intimately with the tragic results of too many people for whom no preventive programming or treatment services were available, and the many families starving it out until they returned.

She knows the difference between programs that sound good and those that actually work, and with her uncommonly good sense and humor, there’s no doubt that she’ll help lead the Legislature in creating sound and productive solutions to this, and the many other problems facing Maine.

Please support Democrat Susan Deschambault in her District 30 Maine Senate bid June 14.
