
IT WAS A FULL HOUSE at the last Open Mic at Savory Maine Restaurant in Damariscotta, which was a benefit for the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder. The open Mic on June 8 will benefit Focus on Agriculture in Rural Maine Schools.
There will be an open mic event to benefit the non-profit group Focus on Agriculture in Rural Maine Schools on June 8 at Savory Maine in Damariscotta.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. The open mic will run from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m., with a 15- minute break. Musician signup is at 6 p.m.
The open mic is a series of eight-minute, two-song slots, and is designed for individual or small group performances. Musicians, singers, poets and other performers will demonstrate their talents.
FARMS is a local non-profit dedicated to providing education about good nutrition and the role of local farms in promoting healthy, sustainable communities. FARMS runs the FARMS Community Kitchen, which is located above Rising Tide Community Market. Cooking classes are taught there to school children, high school students and adults. These hands-on experiences help people of all ages to develop expertise in cooking and gardening, as well as a passion for healthier living. The Kitchen is also a place where local farmers, chefs, medical practitioners and other community members can share their knowledge and expertise.
