There is a short passage by an unknown author that compares life to a journey on a train and reads in part: “We should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.”

Those mentioned here have left more than memories; they have left a part of themselves. People like Steve Adams, Bob Gay, Ann Marie Kenney, Ron and Patti Harwood, Marian Orr, Ron and Rachel Bolduc, Joseph and Doris Buonomo, Germaine Dumas, Al and Bernadette Coulombe, Karen Olson, Grace Lashua, Rita Shaw, Valerie Scanlon, Anne King, Lorraine Jones, Theresa Welborn, Mary Ellen Johnson, Suzanne Cyr, Chris Graves, Jayne Waterhouse, Joyce Russell, Lorraine Warner, Wendy Frazier, Lois Samuels, Raymond and Charlotte Vachon, Deanna Kaplan, Rita Shaw, Don Golojuch, Norman and Doris Simard, Mark and Jennifer Strickland and John Klingensmith.

We also thank our supporters in businesses, organizations and schools: Leeward Landing Thrift Store, Gartland Distributors LLC, Saco Pathfinders, Mohlin & Co., Curves, Gosselin Distributors, Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk, Washington Avenue Day Care, Saco Book Discussion Group, Thornton Academy students, faculty and supporters of all the various clubs and organizations, York County FCU, People’s Choice FCU, Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution and United Way designated donations.

We thank all at our houses of worship: Trinity Episcopal, First Parish and North Saco Congregational, Unitarian Universalist of Saco and Biddeford, Cornerstone Methodist, Bible and United Baptist, Most Holy Trinity, St. Demetrious, St. Augustine Anglican and Hope Churches.

We also thank: Sure Winner Foods, Shaw’s Saco, Saco Hannaford, Hair Works, Fernleaf Bakery, Little Wonders Day Care, and this newspaper, as we also stand in honor of Philippe Masse.

By the concern shown for the 590 people in need helped last month, another mile traveled has been made easier. To all those mentioned, those who remain anonymous standing in the shadows, and on behalf of the over 50 volunteers who logged over 400 hours acting in your stead, thank you. All at the pantry wish you and yours a joyful journey during the years remaining on the train of life.

Lastly, for being one of the passengers on my train I say, thank you and God bless.
