VANDINI the Children’s Magician will perform Saturday at the Chocolate Church Arts Center.
The Chocolate Church Arts Center is celebrating mud season with humor and magic in April.
Vandini the Children’s Magician will perform a show at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mainely Improv invites audience participation during their show at 7:30 p.m. Monday and the month concludes with the return of Tim Sample, ones of Maine’s best-known comedians, on Friday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m.
“ The time between winter and warmer weather is affectionately referred to as Mud Season, and we choose to approach it with flair and humor,” said Jennifer DeChant, Chocolate Church Arts Center executive director. “In addition to a line up of musical acts, we offer a variety of entertainment to brighten the days and spirits of guests.”
Families are encouraged to include Vandini the Children’s Magician as a part of their spring break. Vandini, who has been performing comedy stage illusion shows in front of audiences within the U.S. and Canada for more than 35 years, will bring magic, comedy, illusions and fun through audience participation and music. Tickets are $10 for this April 23, 2 p.m., all-ages show on the main stage.
The professional troupe Mainely Improv will present on the spot comedy in the Curtis Room on April 25 at 7: 30 p. m. The troupe specialize in making up comedic situations entirely from suggestions made by the audience. Every show is different, but every show is spontaneous. Tickets are $10 and space is limited for greatest interaction.
April will conclude with Tim Sample returning to the Chocolate Church main stage on April 29. Sample is a Maine humorist and comedian, author and illustrator. His remarkable style has been entertaining people worldwide with Maine humor and Yankee storytelling in the tradition of “Bert and I.” VIP seating at $35 will include a pre-show reception with Sample who will autograph complimentary copies of Sample and Dodge — The Summer of ‘81 CD — portions of which were recorded with Marshal Dodge at the Chocolate Church 35 years ago. Otherwise, advance tickets are $20 and at-door tickets are $24.
