GORHAM — Jeff Urmston scored three times, and the University of Southern Maine used five unanswered second-half goals to rally to an 11-7 victory over Salem State in a Little East Conference men’s lacrosse game Wednesday.

Sam Hornblower, Seth Wing and Nate DelGiudice each added two goals for the Huskies (6-5, 1-3). The Vikings (5-8, 0-4) led 7-6 at halftime.

BOWDOIN 18, COLBY 9: Clayton Wright had four goals and four assists, and the Polar Bears (10-3, 7-2 NESCAC) rode an early lead to a win over the Mules (3-10, 0-8) at Brunswick.

RIVIER 13, ST. JOSEPH’S 7: The Raiders (9-5, 3-3 GNAC) scored four of the final five goals to pull away from the Monks (5-9, 2-4) at Portland.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

COLBY 16, UNE 3: Kendall Smith had two goals and five assists, and the No. 10 Mules (11-3) cruised past the Nor’easters (9-5) at Biddeford, snapping UNE’s four-game winning streak.

ENDICOTT 6, USM 5: Mike Kochiss hit a two-out, two-run double in the ninth to push the Gulls (19-9) past the Huskies (18-8) at Gorham.

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, BATES 2: Brett Barbati hit a go-ahead two-run single in the sixth, and the Monks (16-10) edged the Bobcats (10-13) at Lewiston.

SMCC 10, CMCC 0: Caleb Burpee had two hits and three RBI, Joe Apon added two hits and two RBI, and the Seawolves (12-19) beat the Mustangs (0-10) at South Portland.

SOFTBALL

MAINE 8, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Sarah Coyne was 2 for 3 with a double, two RBI and two runs to pace the Black Bears (17-15) in a six-inning win over the Monks (17-12) at Orono.

COLBY SWEEPS HUSSON: Katie McLaughlin’s game-ending homer gave Colby (11-13) a 3-2 win over Husson (8-20) in Game 1 at Waterville. Colby won Game 2 9-0 in five innings.

UNE, PLYMOUTH STATE SPLIT: Katelyn Austin and Sophia Burnham combined on a four-hitter as UNE (20-10) took a 5-0 win in Game 1 at Biddeford. The Panthers (9-19) rallied to a 5-3 win in Game 2.
