Two Rockland residents are facing charges following an investigation into two teenage girls who were treated for alcohol poisoning in February. Both of the girls were successfully treated, and are doing well, according to police.

Brenda Shepard, 63, and Ryan Newbert, 19, have been charged with aggravated furnishing of alcohol to minors.

Newbert was also charged with aggravated furnishing of scheduled drugs.

Shepard was charged March 11 as part of the investigation and Newbert was arrested April 18.

The investigation stemmed from a report police received from a citizen about men pulling an unconscious female into a car, and driving northbound on Main Street in Rockland. Rockland Police Officer William Smith located the vehicle on Camden Street and stopped it.

Smith found two 14-year-old girls unconscious in the vehicle. The girls were initially taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center by Rockland EMS, placed on life support, and then flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland via LifeFlight helicopter Police respondefor treatment.
