A multi-vehicle crash on I-295 caused traffic delays during the Wednesday morning commute.

The crash happened on the southbound side of I-295 in the area of Tukey’s Bridge in Portland. Some cars caught up in the traffic made U-turns into the northbound lanes to avoid the backup.

The road remained open to traffic.

A State Police dispatcher said no other details were immediately available.
