
She was born Dec. 10, 1920, in St. Marguerite, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Joseph and Marie (Lehouillier) Rancourt, and was educated in Biddeford schools. On May 30, 1941, she married Armand Descoteaux at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
She worked for 18 years at Allied Shoe and eight years at Nike Shoe in Saco.
Marie had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Biddeford Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, music and spending time with family.
Marie was preceded in death by: her husband, Armand, on July 28, 1986; her son, Roger, on Aug. 31, 2015; two brothers, Leo and George Rancourt; and three sisters, Germaine Larouche, Irene Rice and Helene Brouillette.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law, Joanne Letourneau Descoteaux of Biddeford; three grandsons, Father Lee R. Descoteaux of Long Island, New York, Scott R. Descoteaux and his wife Linda of Biddeford, and Shawn E. Descoteaux and his wife Celeste of Biddeford; and five great-grandchildren, Austin Gagne and Alec, Ariana, Jack and Benjamin Descoteaux.
Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
