Schooner Fare in concert

The Maine-based folk band Schooner Fare will perform in a free concert at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8, in the auditorium at Cape Elizabeth High School. The event is specifically for residents 55 and older and pre-registration is required. Call 799-2868 to sign up or for more information.

Lions offer pancake breakfast

The Cape Elizabeth Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 10, 7:30-11 a.m., at the old Bowery Beach Schoolhouse, located at the intersection of Two Lights and Wheeler roads.

On the menu are pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Call Paul at 470-7353 for more information about the club.

Romeos Pizza holds fundraiser

Head to Romeos in Scarborough for Library Night on Monday, April 11, 5-9 p.m. During the evening the restaurant will donate a percentage of its proceeds from dine-in or take-out orders to the Scarborough Public Library. The Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation is now accepting nominations for its annual Alumni Award designed to salute former students who have achieved exceptional success in their career and made a positive impact in the community. Order dragonfly nymphs now

Scarborough Community Services is once again selling dragonfly nymphs to provide residents with a natural form of mosquito control.

Nymphs eat mosquito larvae before the mosquitoes hatch and as adults can catch mosquitoes on the fly. An order of 100 nymphs should cover approximately one to 2 acres.
