It is very heartwarming to see Cynthia Dill so enamored of Pope Francis and his Easter washing of the feet of refugees and others – a practice by the way, that can be observed in most local Catholic churches as well (“Amid rage, a real man seeks peace,” March 27).
To quote her: “We are confused and afraid – are the images haunting our minds the bloodied bodies of those maimed and killed by terrorists, or a version of Christ crucified on the cross?”
May I suggest to her, and others who pick and choose what they like about the pope’s messages, that maybe what is making her “confused and afraid” is her unmovable support of abortion, which the pope strongly opposes and that results in the “bloodied bodies of those maimed and killed” by that horrific practice?
