During this year’s Cape Celebrates Literacy event more than 80 authors and illustrators are scheduled to take part in this special celebration, which include readings, books signings and more.
The annual celebration of the written word kicks off Saturday, April 2, with a special story time at Thomas Memorial Library and ends with a special screening of the documentary “In the Blood” on April 12 at the high school.
All events are free and open to the public and a full schedule can be found online at www.authorfest.cape.k12.me.us. The premier event is the AuthorFest, which will be held on Saturday, April 11, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the high school.
Other special events include a “Getting Published” seminar with Grace Roberts and Layne Case at 7 p.m. on April 6 at the middle school; a presentation of “Oz” by the middle school’s drama club at 7 p.m. on April 9; and an evening with acclaimed authors Ashley Bryan and Tanya Lee Stone at 6 p.m. on April 10 at the high school.
This year’s Cape Celebrates Literacy event starts on April 2 and winds up on April 12.
