The Cape Elizabeth School Department has been honored with a Best Communities for Music Education honor from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Cape joins a small number of school districts across the country in receiving the prestigious award. The Best Communities Music Education honor is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in their efforts to provide music access and education to all of their students.
To qualify for the Best Communities honor, the School Department in Cape answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs.
