DAMARISCOTTA

Savory Maine Restaurant in Damariscotta is hosting Friendship artist Pam Cabañas in a solo exhibition through May 2, with an opening reception April 1 from 3-5 p.m.

Cabañas works in pastel, charcoal, and ink wash, and is a dedicated painter both in the studio and en plein air. Loading her skiff with camera, easels and supplies, she makes her way through the tides to explore the remote islands of Muscungus Bay.

The Savory Maine exhibition includes selections of large pastel paintings and ink wash studies inspired by the landscapes uncovered as the tide ebbs, as well as pastel paintings of spring flora and traditional Maine birds such as gulls and the black-capped chickadees.
