Jessica Clark has been named the new special education director for the Cape Elizabeth School Department.
Her first day on the job will be July 1. Her appointment was confirmed by the School Board last week.
Clark is a consulting specialist at the New England Center for Children in Southborough, Mass. She also serves as center for children’s coordinator for teacher training and professional development for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Clark has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, a master’s from Simmons College, a certificate of advanced studies degree from the University of New Hampshire and is a board-certified behavior analyst.
“The (search) committee was impressed by her – her enthusiasm and her energy, and her commitment to serving children and families,” Cape Superintendent Meredith Nadeau said in putting Clark’s name forward.
Clark replaces Jane Goulding, who retired last year.
