The Winter Guard show season is now under way, with the first competition of the 2016 season held in Beal Gym at South Portland High School recently. A total of nine groups competed, including a 12-member squad from South Portland. Under the direction of coaches Cathy Mills, Tara Carpenter, Hannah Skeffington and Carly Sobczak the group from South Portland performed a powerful, daring and convincing performance, entitled “Henchmen.” The Winter Guard season continues through the month of March with Marshwood High School hosting the state finals on April 3.
