The Scarborough Public Library has officially received its Family Place Libraries designation. The Family Place program is made up of a nationwide network of libraries committed to building healthy communities by providing programming and services that nurture healthy families.
In addition to its early literacy story times, the youth room at the Scarborough library has been redesigned to include developmental toys that build skills in dexterity, creative learning and sharing. Along with being part of the Family Place network, the library will also continue to offer quarterly, play-based parent and child workshops that will include a guest specialist in the field of child development.
