Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm. As you get older, remember you have another hand: the first is to help yourself; the second is to help others – Audrey Hepburn

And those other hands have not only been extended, they by simply opening them have taken another’s into them in a gesture of hope and caring. They belong to all those from different walks in life who have names like: Ann Marie Kenny, Germaine Dumas, Yolande Langevin, Karin Olson, Helen Fecteau, Al and Bernadette Coulombe, Steven and Betty St. Ours, Laurie Gene Mygau, Joy Elsner, Rita Shaw, Grace Lashua, Andre and Joan Poisson, Harold and Elsie Boudreau, Fran Halamandaris, Dr. Ronald and Mrs. Joyce Bissell, Ron and Rachel Bolduc, Lucille Reed, Joseph and Doris Buonomo, Grace Agayoff, Sue Hillman and Bev Haid, Marian Orr and Peggy Grant.

We thank all at our houses of Worship: Trinity Episcopal, First Parish and North Saco Congregational, Unitarian Universalist of Saco and Biddeford, Cornerstone Methodist, Bible and United Baptist, Most Holy Trinity, St. Demetrious, St. Augustine and Hope Churches.

We send thanks and recognition to our businesses, organizations and schools: Leeward Landing Thrift Store, Gartland Distributers LLC., Town and Country FCU, U-Haul Moving & Storage Saco, Cardullo Investments Inc., E&I Union, Both the Thornton Academy Athletic Dept. and Drama Club, and all their Supporters.

We send special thanks to Sure Winner Foods, Shaw’s Saco, Saco Hannaford, Hair Works, Fernleaf Bakery, Little Wonders Day Care and this newspaper.

By the concern shown for last month’s 542 people in need, another mile traveled has been made easier. To all those mentioned, those who remain anonymous standing in the shadows and on behalf of the over 50 volunteers acting in your stead, thank you. May all and your families find good health, sunshine and God’s blessings.
