MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Maine Red Claws used a 38-22 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 122-106 NBA D-League victory over Raptors 905 on Saturday.
Corey Walden led six Red Claws in double figures with 29 points.
Coty Clarke added 18 points, while Tim Frazier had 17 points and Malcolm Miller 16 for Maine, which next plays at 2 p.m. Sunday at Westchester. Frazier also had 11 rebounds and six assists.
For Toronto, Scott Suggs had 26 points, while Delon Wright added 24. Michale Kyser had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Red Claws held a 29-21 advantage after the first quarter, then surged with a 41-point outburst in the second quarter. Miller, Levi Randolph (15 points) and Walden made consecutive 3-pointers as Maine took a 70-56 lead at halftime – mainly built on 12-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc. Maine shot 63 percent overall from the floor in the half.
Toronto, however, rallied in the third quarter to take a four-point lead with nine minutes to play.
Then Walden scored five straight points to help Maine regain the lead, followed by a Frazier hot streak as he accounted for eight of the next 10 points to push the lead back up to double digits.
