The Maine Songwriters Association has announced the March edition of their Songwriters on Stage series at Frontier in Brunswick on March 2 at 7 p.m.
March’s show will feature Griffin Sherry, Monique Barrett, Tom Douglas and Carolyn Fernald. At 7 p.m., the four songwriters will take the stage for a round-robin format in Frontier’s theater.
Griffin Sherry
Sherry is a songwriter born and raised in rural Maine. He has gained recognition as a member of Portland-based band Ghost of Paul Revere. His songs are often stories, both personal and fictitious, and sung with a fury and passion reminiscent of early American troubadours.
Monique Barrett
With a soul-folk sound and a honed songwriting style, Barrett has firmly established herself as a force in Portland’s music community. Barrett’s most recent album, “Steps,” was released in 2014.
Tom Douglas
A seasoned veteran of the New Jersey music scene, Douglas has been writing, recording and performing his own music since he was a teenager, and has three solo recordings to his credit. Since moving to Maine in 2004, Douglas has played many different types of music with sevral Maine musicians from folk, blues and R&B to hip hop and everything in between.
Carolyn Fernald
Fernald is a Portland singer-songwriter who uses her personal experience to craft stories. She has played many venues around Southern Maine, including One Longfellow Square and the St. Lawrence Theater, but her favorite place to play is around any campfire after the kids have gone to bed.
Admission for this event is $10 and tickets can be purchased online at explorefrontier.com or at the door.
