The South Portland Public Library is holding two special events on Saturday, March 5. Both are free and open to the public.
See www.southportlandlibrary.com or call 767-7660 for more information.

At 1 p.m. enjoy a “Snappsy the Alligator” release party. Local author Julie Falatko will launch her debut picture book, “Snappsy the Alligator (Did Not Ask to Be in This Book).” This party is for all ages.

There will be Snappsy-themed crafts and activities, snacks that start with the letter “P,” a photo booth, a special author read-aloud and more. Bull Moose will be selling copies of Snappsy for anyone who would like to purchase the book at a discount.

In addition, Falatko will also happily sign books and the library has plenty of copies of Snappsy to check out, so stop by to pick up a copy or put one on hold.

Then at 7 p.m. the local French rock band Britta Pejic et Sa Band de Cons will hold a concert. Seating is limited and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy colorful and at times surreal psychedelic rock songs with hints of Portland-area lore.
