A performance of “Meet Millie,” a play about the last resident to live at Pettengill farm, will take place on Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Harrington House, 45 Main St., Freeport.
Trish Scott stars in this short play about Mildred Pettengill, the last resident to live at the Pettengill farm homestead on the Harraseeket River. The homestead, which never had running water, electricity or central heat, was Millie’s home where she lived alone into her late 80s. She will talk about her interests, her family, life on the farm and the homestead’s early history with the aid of historic images and artifacts.
“Meet Millie” will occur in the exhibit space of Freeport Historical Society’s current exhibit “Logging in Maine, 1915-1928.” Admission is $5 for the general public and $3 for FHS members and children 12 and under.
