
He was born in Biddeford on Feb. 22, 1957, a son of Nicholas and Mary (Mourmouras) Gourdouros. He graduated from Thornton Academy in 1975 and continued his education at Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island and SMVTI in South Portland.
George was employed in the cable industry for 25 years, 19 of which were spent at Time Warner Cable in South Portland. In 2005, he moved in with his sister, Eleni Gourdouros.
He was a cowboy Western enthusiast. His hobbies included cars, Harley- Davidson motorcycles and landscaping,
He was predeceased by: his father, mother and older sister, Jorja Gourdouros.
He is survived by: two sons, Nicholas Gourdouros of Saco and Alexander Gourdouros of Richmond, Virginia; one sister, Eleni Gourdouros of Marion, South Carolina, with whom he resided; numerous cousins; an uncle, Harry Sullivan of Saco; and an aunt, Mary Catsoulis of Durham, New Hampshire. He is also survived by Emma, Sammy, King and Sugar.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, with a Trisagion Service at 5 p.m. at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Demetrios Cemetery in Biddeford.
