BINGHAM — Gerard Vigneault, 78, of Bingham, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Somerset Rehabilitation Center in Bingham.

He was born July 26, 1937, to Adelard and Eva (Duquette) Vigneault in Biddeford. He attended Biddeford schools, and graduated from St. Francis High School. On Oct. 10, 1959, he married Doris Girard at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Reserves for eight years. He worked for W.H. Nichols in Portland as a machinist until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Wood Carver’s Association, the National Rifle Association and the Maine Sportsmen’s Alliance. He loved wood carving, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time at his camp on Lake Moxie.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Claire Vigneault.

Jerry is survived by: His loving wife of 56 years, Doris Vigneault of Bingham; two sons, Kevin Vigneault and his wife Denise of Arundel and Gary Vigneault and his wife Doreen of Lyman; two daughters, Claire Van Deinse and her husband William of Old Orchard Beach and Karen Jordan and her husband Nathan of Biddeford; four brothers, Leonard Vigneault and his wife Lynn, Normand Vigneault and his wife Peggy, and Jean Paul Vigneault and his wife Carmen, all of Biddeford, and Andy Vigneault and his wife Rita of Old Town; four sisters, Terry Cote and her husband Daniel and Jeanne Vigneault of Biddeford, Priscille Bourque of Saco, and Lou Bruckler and her husband Jack of Sanford; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
