I use Time Warner for my Internet service. My basic Internet cost is $14.99.

I received a notice in my December bill that my monthly cost will rise to $49.95 for the same service. In figuring the rise in percentage, my calculator started smoking because it didn’t go that high!

It’s no insider’s secret that Time Warner’s stock will plummet with a mass exodus of subscribers switching to any other Internet service provider.

What company in its right mind spends millions on a TV ad promoting how bad its service was, with a slow-motion dancer listening to (elevator music), then jacks your bill up so high that it takes you out of the ballgame – literally? This seems like economic suicide for both sides involved.

FairPoint has had some rough times recently, but it would never stoop to this kind of tactic. If there were ever a time where supporting a local company is the right thing to do, this is it!

When you weigh which Internet provider to use, it’s certainly not rocket science.
